X-Compare
X-Compare: laboratory measurements, our own rating scale.
X-Compare ratings start from physical measurements: dwell time, energy return, tension loss, string-on-string friction and more. Our own scale turns them into 6 criteria, each rated out of 100. Every string goes through the same grid, which makes for fair comparisons.

Description
Head Hawk Grey string
The Head Hawk string is a high-end monofilament that provides maximum control and power during strikes. The feeling on big hits is excellent. The Hawk is naturally rigid and will give its full potential to players with good arm speed.
Our test of the Head Hawk string
Power and control
Unsurprisingly, the string's rigidity provides more control than power. This is the purpose for which this string was created. However, we appreciated the power of this reference on explosive strikes.
Spin potential
Due to its round profile, do not expect a string that provides a lot of spin potential. The Hawk will remain in the classic average of monofilaments.
Comfort and tolerance
We appreciated the comfort on strikes, even on off-center hits. However, the tolerance is lower.
Durability and tension maintenance
The effective durability is well above average with very good tension maintenance. After several hours of play, we appreciated this linear feeling that did not drop drastically.
Sensation/feeling/rigidity
The Head Hawk is a fairly firm string that offers a real feeling on strong strikes. The overall feeling is thus very good.
WHO DO WE RECOMMEND THE HEAD HAWK TO?
We recommend this string to naturally powerful players who are looking for a string focused on a compromise of control/power that lasts over time (meaning that the sensations remain similar as the hours of play go by).
It will suit attackers who like to take the game into their own hands. With this string, you will gain control and precision!
WHERE DOES THE HEAD HAWK STRING FIT IN THE HEAD RANGE?
The Head Hawk string offers the most control and precision of the entire range!
Advantages: unique control and feeling on explosive strikes
Disadvantage: average spin potential
