X-Compare

X-Compare: laboratory measurements, our own rating scale.

X-Compare ratings start from physical measurements: dwell time, energy return, tension loss, string-on-string friction and more. Our own scale turns them into 6 criteria, each rated out of 100. Every string goes through the same grid, which makes for fair comparisons.

Description

String Kirschbaum Black Shark

The Kirschbaum Black Shark string features a unique 8-sided star shape to increase spin. This optimizes control without sacrificing ball speed. This all-round string also delivers excellent feel.

Our team's test

When striking, the string delivers power and comfort while ensuring good ball control.

Its striations and roughness suggested a strong spin. Although this was very good, we were hoping for more (don't worry, spin is very honest). The string grips the ball well, giving it more spin.

When off-center, Kirschbaum Black Shark doesn't emit any unpleasant vibrations, reinforcing its comfortable stringing position.

We found the string very versatile in terms of power (without lacking control), forgiveness and comfort, with an extra touch at spin.

Flexible, comfortable, and forgiving, you feel the ball enter the string bed and a superb spin!! You can hit flat with a lot of security and when you lift the ball it pops!! The only small downside is maybe a bit of pep and stability... But really a great string (Translated review)
