This product offers a compromise between power and control that's unquestionably in the top 3.

Like its best-seller, the Alu Power Rough offers an excellent tension hold.

The textured side increases ball rotation. Note that it fades with use.

The string remains a little more fragile than normal, which is logical for a rough version.

Indeed, the magic of the classic Luxilon Alu Power can be found, with more power and spin. The Rough version offers amplified access to effects, as well as greater playing comfort and more forgiveness than the Big Banger Alu Power.

We liked the comfort and grip, as well as the forgiveness! On off-center hits, we didn't feel any bad vibrations. The ball moved quickly away from headsize. However, resistance is reduced by the rough structure.

The stiff, metallic feel so appreciated by fans of this string is a little lacking, as is control.

This string is ideal for hybrid set-ups, as it will grip the ball better if you lay it in the uprights

WHO SHOULD USE ALU POWER ROUGH?

The Luxilon Alu Power Rough string is recommended for players looking for perfect performance. This string offers a great compromise between power, spin and feel. Note that heavy lifters are more likely to opt for the Spin version of the Alu Power, which has a structured cut. The textured Rough version is perfect for players who cover the ball but don't lift excessively.

You can also use it as a hybrid to make it even more comfortable and lively to hit. Use a Tecnifibre TGV-type multifilament in the crossings for greater comfort, and a Tecnifibre NRG or gut for extra power.
