The Head Sprint Pro 4.0 is the lightest model in the brand's catalogue. It targets players who build their game on movement speed and taking the initiative forward, with a firm hold and ground feel prioritised over plush cushioning. Red and dark red colourway.

Who is this shoe for?

It suits club and competition players with an attacking game, who string together direction changes and want to reach the ball early. The cushioning is deliberately minimal and the foot sits low to the ground: you gain in responsiveness and feel, you lose in comfort over long sessions. The fit comes in a standard width, better suited to light and medium builds. The hybrid outsole works on hard courts as well as clay, which makes it a solid all rounder for players who switch surfaces.

The technologies explained

• Woven TPU mesh: the upper has been reworked to be both stronger and more breathable than the previous generation, without gaining weight.
• TRI-NRG: the midsole works in three zones, neutralising impact at the heel, staying rigid through the midfoot for torsional support, then generating energy at the forefoot for acceleration.
• EVA foam: a new formulation with improved energy return, paired with a ventilated anti torsion shank.
• Delta Strap: triangular straps built into the lacing and present on both sides of the upper, locking the foot down through lateral moves.
• Drift Defense and HyBrasion+™: abrasion reinforcement on the toe and medial forefoot, plus a specific rubber compound for grip and long term durability.
• All court and clay outsole: the pattern combines durability zones for hard courts with open tread for grip on clay.
• Cooling System, a TPU Heel Stabilizer and an OrthoLite® insole: 360 degree ventilation, a locked in heel and breathable, machine washable cushioning.

The Extreme Tennis team's view

Around 343 g in a 42.5 and an 8.5 mm drop: the Sprint Pro 4.0 wears like a speed shoe and should not be asked for anything else. A heavier player, or anyone playing four hours straight, will quickly find the limit of that minimal cushioning and would be better served by a more structured model. For an attacker who wants to feel the court and move fast, though, it is one of the few shoes this light that keeps genuine lateral hold, thanks to the double Delta Strap.
