The K-Swiss K-Speed Team, speed without giving up comfort

The K-Speed Team is the newest addition to the K-Swiss Speed family. It targets players who want to move fast and cut hard while keeping a shoe that can be worn all day. White, Baltic blue and carbon grey colourway.

Who is this shoe for?

For the attacking club player who takes the ball early and piles up lateral supports, without paying top tier competition money. This is an entry level performance shoe: it brings structure and speed, but stays less protective than an Ultrashot for a heavier build or anyone stringing together four hours on court. The all court outsole works on hard courts as well as clay.

The technologies explained

  • Durapress upper: TPU yarn mesh with heat pressed sections. The process locks in structure and support through aggressive play while keeping the shoe light.
  • Surgelite midsole: light, flexible cushioning that absorbs impact from the first rally. No break in period required.
  • 180 P.S.C. plate: it braces the midfoot for stable, predictable footing when planting. Same logic as the Hypercourt Express 3, on a lighter shoe.
  • DragGuard outsole: reinforced rubber over the friction zones, for traction and above all for lifespan.

The Extreme Tennis team's view

This is the model to look at if you want a structured, fast shoe without moving up to Ultrashot or K-Frame Speed pricing. The two technical pieces that matter are here, the 180 P.S.C. for midfoot stability and DragGuard for wear, in a simpler package. The trade off is that Surgelite cushioning stays basic next to the Hypercourt's Surgelite+: over very long sessions the foot tires sooner. A good first performance purchase, or a second pair for training.
