X-Compare

X-Compare: laboratory measurements, our own rating scale.

X-Compare ratings start from physical measurements: dwell time, energy return, tension loss, string-on-string friction and more. Our own scale turns them into 6 criteria, each rated out of 100. Every string goes through the same grid, which makes for fair comparisons.

Description

Msv Focus Hex Plus 25 reel

Msv Focus Hex Plus 25 is a monofilament set. This black, hexagonal polyester is available in different gauge thicknesses from 1.20 to 1.30. As with Msv Focus Hex, the Plus 25 version retains its six-sided structure for excellent effect. What's more, it benefits from 25% greater elasticity, to deliver greater power reserves.

Our test of the Msv Focus Hex Plus 25 string

Power and control

It offers a soft feel when struck and enables players to generate power with ease. As for ball control, it's still there, but a little less so.

Spin grip

We appreciated the above-average ball grip.

Comfort and forgiveness

Playing comfort is quite good, and tolerance is also better than with the classic version.

Durability and tension hold

Performance tends to diminish fairly quickly over the hours, but remains decent. Service life is average, in line with semi-flexible monofilament strings.

Sensation / feel / stiffness

The feel of the strings is pleasant, making them easy to play. In fact, the semi-flexible feel makes it possible to exploit a significant ball touch.

Who should use it?

It's perfect for players looking for ball grip and a good balance between power and control.

It offers dominant power with well-balanced control. A string that can easily be adapted to all types of play and players of all levels.

Where does Focus Hex Plus 25 fit in the Msv range?

Msv Focus Hex Plus 25 offers slightly more power than Msv Focus Hex Soft. It is slightly more control-oriented than a Msv Focus Hex Plus 38.
