X-Compare

X-Compare: laboratory measurements, our own rating scale.

X-Compare ratings start from physical measurements: dwell time, energy return, tension loss, string-on-string friction and more. Our own scale turns them into 6 criteria, each rated out of 100. Every string goes through the same grid, which makes for fair comparisons.

Description

String Solinco Tour Bite Diamond Rough

The Solinco Tour Bite Diamond Rough string is designed to give the ball more spin and bite.

The Solinco Tour Bite Diamond Rough string feels very rough and marked.

It stretches more than the Tour Bite but less than Tour Bite Soft.

In short, this string is supple, powerful, rough and comfortable, providing very strong ball rotation for maximum spin.

OUR TEST OF THE SOLINCO TOUR BITE DIAMOND ROUGH STRING

Power and control

We found Tour Bite Diamond Rough to be the most powerful and comfortable string in the range Tour Bite. Control, on the other hand, lags behind on this version. Choose Tour Bite Soft for more control.

Effect production

Spin production is excellent, particularly on slice and chop serves and backhands, where we can clearly feel a sharp increase in ball rotation and therefore much heavier balls.

Comfort and forgiveness

This Tour Bite Diamond Rough is comfortable to use. In fact, its suppleness extinguishes a large proportion of vibrations, providing unrivalled playing comfort with Solinco monofilament strings. The only string to rival this is Solinco Outlast. Flexibility also means excellent tolerance of off-center balls and maximum comfort.

Durability and tension hold

tension hold is average for a monofilament string. The string will tend to lose tension over hours of play.

Sensation / feel / stiffness

We found the ball/string contact time to be very long, for even greater flexibility and comfort. The ball sinks into the headsize and lets you control your trajectories to perfection. The result is an incredible feeling.

Tip Extreme Tennis

This string is ideally suited to rackets with classic 16×19 string patterns, but also with tighter string patterns. Indeed, on the latter, the string's suppleness allows you to gain in tolerance and the rough side in rotation. In view of this power/flexibility, we recommend increasing the string tension by one kilo compared with a traditional monofilament.

WHO SHOULD USE SOLINCO TOUR BITE DIAMOND ROUGH?

We recommend this reference for players looking for a flexible monofilament that delivers power and spin in comfort. Lifters will have a lot of fun with this string, which is also Spin maximum assured

This string is ideal for baseline players who like their shots to curve and give the ball plenty of lift. This will enable you to outflank your opponents and make them back away from their baseline.

Where does the Solinco Tour Bite Diamond Rough string stand in the Solinco range?

The most powerful string in the range Solinco. In terms of playing comfort, it's on a par with Solinco Outlast. It's also more comfortable than the already very comfortable Tour Bite Soft.

Very discreet, very light, filters vibrations well and holds very well on the strings. (Translated review)

Very close to the Alu Power Rough in sensations but + comfortable, very complete string with exceptional spin and control. Limited power even at low tension (21 kg) but it lends itself well to hybrids with a softer string in the crosses. The TB Diamond Rough is one of my favorite strings, if not MY favorite on my HEAD Speed MP300. (Translated review)
