Description
The limited edition marking Federer's entry into the tennis pantheon
In November 2025, Roger Federer was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. His induction takes place in Newport from 27 to 29 August 2026, and Wilson marks the occasion with this Hall of Fame limited edition of the RF 01. Under the commemorative paintwork sits the full RF 01 frame: 300 g unstrung, a 632 cm² head, a 16x19 pattern, sold as a bare frame.
Who is this racket for?
It targets the advanced to expert player who builds points on arm speed rather than mass. The RF 01 sits at the centre of the range, between the more demanding Pro and the more accessible Future: a swingweight held to 288 and a 31,5 cm balance make it a frame that launches quickly, without the inertia of a 320 g racket. Collectors and Federer fans will also find a special piece here.
The technology explained
- SABR Frame Design: the dual taper beam (23.2 / 24 / 22 mm) improves aerodynamics and makes acceleration easier. The name echoes Federer's signature move.
- Braid 45: the braided fibres are set at 45 degrees, letting the braid breathe on impact. The result is longer dwell time in the string bed and better stability.
- Feel Fill: polyurethane foam injected through the frame dampens vibration and firms up the sensation at contact.
- Glide Guard: bumper and grommets are integrated into the beam to cut air resistance and gain head speed.
- Bare frame: at 62 RA, the RF 01 takes a soft polyester as readily as a multifilament, depending on how sensitive your arm is.
The Extreme Tennis team's take
Our lab measurements confirm this frame's control bias: 77 for control, against a measured power figure of 67. This is a racket that asks you to bring your own arm speed, but rewards precision. Manoeuvrability comes out at 68 with a swingweight of 288 and a recoil weight of 149.3: the RF 01 resets quickly, which shows up especially at the net and on blocked returns. The plow-through of 285.7 stays respectable without matching the Pro. Two things to know before buying: spin tops out at 62, so this is not the extreme topspin player's frame, and a twistweight of 14.9 against a 64 forgiveness figure means it punishes contact well away from the centre. Comfort, on the other hand, reaches 71 at 62 RA, which makes it gentler than the category average. Compare it with the RF 01 Pro and the Blade 98 through our X-Compare tool.
