The K-Swiss K-Speed Team Women, structure and speed without the premium

The women's version of the K-Speed Team, the newest addition to the K-Swiss Speed family. It targets players who build their game on movement and footwork without moving up to a top tier competition model. White, Dawn blue and Baltic blue colourway.

Who is this shoe for?

For the attacking club player who takes the ball early and covers a lot of ground. This is an entry level performance model: you get structure and responsiveness, with less protection than an Ultrashot over very long sessions. The fit comes in a standard width. The all court outsole saves buying a second pair for clay in spring.

The technologies explained

  • Durapress upper: TPU yarn mesh with heat pressed sections. The process locks the structure where the foot pushes, stopping the upper from deforming session after session.
  • Surgelite midsole: light, flexible cushioning that works from the first rally. No break in period required.
  • 180 P.S.C. plate: a 180 degree thermoplastic chassis under the midfoot. It is what makes footing predictable as you plant to brake.
  • DragGuard outsole: reinforced rubber over the friction zones, for traction and above all for lifespan.

The Extreme Tennis team's view

The women's offering in structured tennis shoes stays thin at this price point, and that is exactly where the K-Speed Team fits well. It carries the two pieces that separate a real tennis shoe from a general sports shoe, the 180 P.S.C. chassis and DragGuard, without a tour level price tag. The limit is Surgelite cushioning, more basic than the Hypercourt's Surgelite+: over very long or back to back sessions the foot tires sooner. A good first performance purchase or a second training pair.
