Description

The Metalbone Team Zidane, the most comfortable Metalbone in the ZZ collection

The Adidas Metalbone Team Zidane was born from the first padel collaboration between adidas and Zinedine Zidane. It combines a round shape, a fiberglass face and an EVA Soft Performance core with the technologies of the Metalbone range. It comes in special collection packaging.

Who is this racket for?

Players who put comfort and ease first. On our test bench it proves very forgiving, with exceptional comfort and very generous ball exit: the ball travels deep without effort. Adidas lists it as even-balanced, but our measurement puts it clearly head-heavy, which adds weight to the shot and explains its average manoeuvrability despite the round shape and 360-375 g weight.

The technologies explained

  • Octagonal Structure: a tubular carbon frame with an octagonal cross-section that limits torsion for more precise shots.
  • Low Poly: a polyhedral frame and core design that adds stiffness.
  • Extra Power Grip: a longer handle that increases swing inertia.
  • Spin Blade Gritt and Smart Holes Curve: surface and drilling designed to generate spin.
  • Structural Reinforcement: structural reinforcements for durability.

The Extreme Tennis team's verdict

Despite the “attack” label and the Metalbone technologies, our measurements show a comfort racket first: soft face, very high forgiveness and ball exit, more measured power and control. A great choice for an intermediate player who wants easy depth. Those after more control and manoeuvrability should look at the Metalbone Carbon Zidane, clearly more precise in our measurements.
