Description

The first racket in the Iga Swiatek range, at 19 inches

The Tecnifibre Tempo IGA 19 opens the girls' junior range carrying Iga Swiatek's name. It is aimed at players measuring 95 to 110 cm, roughly 4 to 5 years old. This is the smallest size in the catalogue, the one for the very first balls at tennis school. Developed with Tecnifibre's coaches and the TecniLab, it weighs 155 g with a 468 cm² head.

What sets it apart

  • 00000 handle size: the slimmest handle in the entire junior range, essential at this age so the hand can actually close around the grip.
  • Two-tone grip: the two colours show where to place the hand. At four, it is the cue that lets a child pick the racket back up correctly without being told again each time.
  • 14x17 string pattern: very open, suited to the soft balls used in beginner coaching.
  • Slimmer beam section: it contains power to keep the ball inside a mini court.
  • Dampener included and an aluminium frame: comfort and solid knock resistance.
  • White, blue and pink colourway: a feminine glossy finish inspired by video games.

The Extreme Tennis team's take

The TEMPO IGA range was designed with Iga Swiatek, who personally chose the line's blue and purple. Beyond the name, the real benefit for a young girl is playing with a racket she identifies with: at this age, wanting to come back counts as much as the equipment does. Technically, the 19 inch matches the Level Up 19 with a different design, if you are after a unisex alternative. Go by the child's height, not her age: under 95 cm, it is still too early. Two-year warranty.
