Description

The first competition racket in the Iga Swiatek range

The Tecnifibre Tempo IGA 24 marks the break in the girls' junior range: it leaves starter aluminium behind for a graphite composite frame. It is aimed at players aged 6 to 8 who are starting competition. 245 g, a 660 cm² head, 60.9 cm long with a 290 mm balance.

Why it is not simply a step between the 23 and the 25

The numbers look odd at first: the 24 inch has a larger head than the 25 (660 against 645 cm²), it is shorter (60.9 against 63.5 cm) and yet heavier (245 against 230 g). That is not an inconsistency, it is a different kind of frame. A competition racket favours mass and stability over length: the player hits harder, absorbs faster balls, and needs a frame that does not move in the hand more than she needs extra leverage.

What sets it apart

  • Graphite composite construction: stiffer and more responsive than aluminium, it transmits far more information about the ball. That is what allows technical progress.
  • 660 cm² head: generous, it keeps forgiveness despite the competition focus.
  • 245 g: light enough not to restrict swing speed, substantial enough to hold up against an opponent who hits.
  • 290 mm balance and a 16x19 pattern: a balanced frame, not driven by the head.
  • In the Iga Swiatek line's colours, designed with the player.

The Extreme Tennis team's take

The deciding factor is not the child's height but her schedule. A 6 to 8 year old going to the club once a week gains nothing here: the aluminium Tempo IGA 23 will do the job for half the price. But once there are two or three sessions a week and official matches, graphite becomes a genuine advantage. Ball feel is more precise, so technical corrections land better, and the frame absorbs shots that aluminium merely endures. Two-year warranty.
