X-Compare: laboratory measurements, our own rating scale.

X-Compare ratings start from physical measurements: dwell time, energy return, tension loss, string-on-string friction and more. Our own scale turns them into 6 criteria, each rated out of 100. Every string goes through the same grid, which makes for fair comparisons.

Description

Reel Yonex Poly Tour Pro Yellow

The Yonex Poly Tour Pro string is a round monofilament. The muffled feel on striking gives way to an above-average power-control compromise.

In fact, the Japanese brand has developed a string that shines for its versatility. Its use by top players such as Nick Kyrgios confirms its quality. Playing comfort is also top-notch.

Our test of the Yonex Poly Tour Pro string

Our experts put this reference string through its paces.

The result: a very muted feel when hitting the ball. The ball remains in contact with the string for a short time, ensuring power, comfort and forgiveness. The string can therefore be described as rather supple. Our tests also showed that ball control is very much in evidence. The string provides interesting access to spin for a round string. The string's durability is also above average.

Overall, we'd describe the string as very versatile. However, it lacks that little something extra that could have made it a real best seller!
