Yonex VCore Alpha SL 2026 Tennis Racket (245g)

Yonex VCORE Alpha SL: Precision, Spin, and Unrivalled Manoeuvrability

Weighing in at a mere 245 grams (unstrung), the VCORE Alpha SL sets new benchmarks for handling and agility. This exceptional lightness reduces arm fatigue significantly, allowing players to accelerate the racket head with unparalleled fluidity – a critical factor for generating maximum spin. To effectively counterbalance this featherlight design and ensure excellent ball depth without requiring excessive power, the racket features a strategically positioned head-heavy balance at 340 mm. This design creates a natural, powerful leverage effect upon impact, enhancing both power and control.

For superior spin potential, the VCORE Alpha SL boasts a highly open 16x18 string pattern. This is further enhanced by Yonex's innovative Aero Trench and Liner Tech technologies, which together optimise frame aerodynamics and string movement for maximum ball bite. The racket's forgiveness is greatly amplified by the renowned ISOMETRIC head shape, providing a generous 645 cm² sweet spot. Furthermore, the impact experience is refined and arm-friendly, thanks to the integration of advanced graphite materials: Servo Filter and VDM (Vibration Dampening Mesh) work in concert to absorb unwanted vibrations, safeguarding your joints during extended play.

Key Technologies Integrated

• ISOMETRIC: Yonex's signature square-shaped head design enlarges the sweet spot, delivering greater forgiveness and enhanced power on off-centre hits.
• Aero Trench: An aerodynamic groove conceals grommets at the top of the frame, reducing air resistance for faster swing speeds and increased spin generation.
• Liner Tech: Straight grommet holes allow strings greater freedom of movement, optimising spin potential and impact comfort.
• Servo Filter: An ultra-elastic transparent film embedded between graphite layers to filter undesirable vibrations while maintaining frame flexibility and feel.
• VDM (Vibration Dampening Mesh): A stretchable mesh material wrapped around the graphite within the handle, designed to absorb shock and protect the player's arm from impact vibrations.

Ideal Player Profile

This model is specifically engineered for recreational players, beginners, senior players seeking total joint comfort, or young competitors transitioning to their first full-size (27-inch) adult racket. If you lack natural physical strength and require a frame that effortlessly generates power, depth, and spin, the VCORE Alpha SL is your perfect tool for progression.

Our Expert Opinion: The VCORE Alpha SL stands out as the ultimate transition and comfort racket. At 245 grams, it handles with remarkable ease. Yonex's true stroke of genius lies in its high balance point, ensuring that ball weight isn't compromised despite the racket's lightness. Crucially, it incorporates the full suite of vibration filtering technologies (Servo Filter, VDM) found in heavier models, a rare feature for a racket in this weight class. This makes it an incredibly arm-friendly option, providing protection match after match. Still undecided?
