Yonex Vcore: for more versatility and spin
This range is designed for players looking for spin and versatility. The muffled feel of the ball is the hallmark of this range. Do you want more spin on your balls? Would you like to get a good ratio between control and power? Then the Vcore is the racquet for you.
Which Yonex VCore racket should I choose?
A distinction must be made between Vcore 100 and Vcore 98. The 98's are predominantly control oriented. They are ideal for players looking for control and spin in a racket. The Vcore 100's are spin oriented with a very good control to power ratio. We found them to be very stable at impact. For 4th series and club players we recommend the Light models (100L or 98L).
Technologies of the range
You will find 5 main technologies on VCore tennis rackets:
- Isometric: the frame is isometrically shaped to improve the hitting area and therefore the forgiveness and power of the racket;
- Namd: modifies the structure of the graphite for more flexibility and a better energy return. The result is better spin;
- Aero Trench: reduces the size of the grommets on the top of the racket and improves the aerodynamics of the racket to increase spin;
- Aero Fin: reduces air resistance for a faster swing and increased spin;
- Liner Tech: the shape of the grommets is modified to improve string movement. This gives you more power and forgiveness.
Which string to use?
A variety of strings are available for this range of rackets. If you want to focus on control rather than power, you should select a stiff string. If you want to optimize power, then choose a soft string. We recommend you visit our strings page and filter by stiffness type. A little tip: on the 98 models, choose a gauge of 1.20 and below. The overall performance will be even better! There are 3 ranges of Yonex tennis rackets: Ezone for power, VCore for spin, VCore Pro for control.
