Yonex Ezone: a racket offering great power

The Yonex Ezone range is designed for players looking for power and forgiveness. The muffled feel of the ball is the hallmark of this range. Your game lacks ball speed? Would you like more forgiveness? Then the Ezone is the racquet for you!

Which Yonex Ezone racket to choose?

You will have to distinguish between the Ezone 100 and the Ezone 98. The 98's offer some power for the 98 heads, but in our opinion they are more control oriented. The ratio of power to control is very well balanced and will therefore be suitable for counter-attackers. The Ezone 100 is naturally a power-oriented racket, but it does not sacrifice control. For 4th series and club players we recommend the Light models (100L or 98L). Younger players switching to a first adult racket should consider the Super Light (100 SL) model for the best possible performance.

Ezone Technology

There are 4 main technologies in the Ezone tennis rackets:

  • Isometric: the frame is isometrically shaped to improve the sweetspot and therefore the forgiveness and power of the racket;
  • M40X: a rigid graphite is integrated into the head of the racket to provide power while remaining soft in the core of the racket for comfort, stability and control
  • Vibration Dampening Mesh: A material placed in the handle of the racket filters out 30% of harmful vibrations. The result is a more comfortable feel for the ball;
  • Liner Tech: the shape of the grommets is modified to improve string movement. This gives you more power and forgiveness.

Which string to use on a Yonex Ezone?

We liked the semi-rigid to firm strings, which we found to offer more feel. However, for players looking for the ultimate in power, look for soft monofilament strings that will deliver more ball speed. We suggest you visit our strings page and filter by stiffness type. On the Ezone 100 SL model we recommend the use of a multifilament string to optimise comfort.

There are 3 ranges of Yonex tennis rackets: Ezone for power, Vcore for spin, Vcore Pro for control.
