Nox Genius 12K Alum Xtrem Lite 2027 racket
X-Compare
Description
Nox's Genius 12K Alum Xtrem Lite 2027, a lighter Genius that keeps its punch
The lightest version of Agustín Tapia's Genius range, Nox's Genius 12K Alum Xtrem Lite 2027 weighs 350 to 360 g and combines a teardrop shape, 12K Alum Xtrem carbon faces and an HR3 White EVA core. Nox presents it as the most manoeuvrable Genius, with a soft feel. Our X-Compare measurements qualify this: despite the lower weight, its neutral-high balance makes it less manoeuvrable than the Genius 18K Alum and 12K Alum Xtrem. On the other hand, it proves more powerful than the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem, with high control.
Who is it for?
Advanced-level padel players who want a Genius that is lighter on the scales without giving up hitting power. The mass towards the head puts weight on the ball in attack, spin is excellent and control very good. Comfort and forgiveness are average: the feel announced as soft does not translate into more comfort than the other Genius models in the lab.
The technologies explained
- Carbon 12K Alum Xtrem: a carbon that reduces fibre undulation and interlacing by 50%, for a thinner, more uniform surface; the aluminised finish adds stiffness and thermal stability.
- HR3 White EVA: a low-density white rubber designed for light rackets, with great control.
- VCS: a high-performance elastomer bonded inside the handle to filter vibrations, completed by the Pulse System and Custom Grip.
- Weight Balance and Oversize Grip: interchangeable counterweights to adjust weight and balance, and a 30 mm handle extension.
- Dual Spin, EOS Tunnel and Dynamic Composite Structure: textured faces for spin, aerodynamic side holes and a frame extended up to 4 cm into the face to prevent cracks.
The Extreme Tennis team's verdict
Do not choose it for pure hand speed: the Genius 18K Alum 2027 does better there, and is more forgiving too. The Lite suits an advanced player who wants a lighter, more attacking Genius than the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2027, which remains the control benchmark of the range.
