Nox Genius Attack 18K Alum 2027 racket
X-Compare
Description
Nox's Genius Attack 18K Alum 2027, maximum power in the Genius family
Agustín Tapia's Genius Attack 18K Alum 2027 combines a diamond shape, a high balance, an Oversize Grip handle and 18K Alum carbon faces. Nox presents it as maximum power without losing precision. Our X-Compare measurements confirm the power, the highest in the entire Genius range, with the best ball exit. They qualify the precision claim, though: it is also the Genius with the lowest control and the least manoeuvrability.
Who is it for?
Expert-level padel players with a clearly attacking style, who have the technique and arm speed to exploit a heavy head. Spin is excellent and the shot is heavy, but the racket requires good positioning: in fast defence and on off-centre hits, it is not very forgiving. Weight 360 to 375 g.
The technologies explained
- Carbon 18K Alum: an aluminised 18K carbon for a more solid feel than a very stiff carbon, and more consistent performance across temperature changes.
- Multilayered Black EVA: a multi-layer core with varying densities, designed for power on the smash.
- Oversize Grip: a 30 mm handle extension, useful for two-handed shots.
- VCS: a high-performance elastomer bonded inside the handle to filter vibrations, completed by the Pulse System and Custom Grip.
- Dual Spin, Weight Balance, EOS Tunnel and Dynamic Composite Structure: textured faces for spin, 2 g and 4 g counterweights, aerodynamic side holes and a frame reinforced up to 4 cm into the face.
The Extreme Tennis team's verdict
This is the Genius for finishing points, not building them. Compared with its sister Genius Attack 12K Alum Xtrem 2027, it hits harder and is slightly more comfortable and forgiving, but it loses clearly in control and manoeuvrability: the 12K is the more balanced of the two Attack models. If you play a positional game, the teardrop Genius 18K Alum 2027 will be much easier to live with.
