Designed for pure speed

Every part of the Solution Speed is built around one aim: getting you moving again as fast as possible, without giving up the support competitive tennis demands.

Here is what the product sheets say for this range: 329 g in 42.5 (US 9) and in 39.5 (US 8), a 10.5 mm drop, a narrow fit, minimal and responsive cushioning, standard lateral stability. On tour it is worn by Alex de Minaur and Jack Draper.

Is this your shoe?

This range suits you if you are a player who:

  • builds their game on speed, agility and sharp changes of direction
  • plays all-court tennis, breaking forward from the baseline
  • prefers a light, flexible shoe that feels like an extension of the foot
  • puts speed ahead of maximum stability

The key technologies

  • Speedtruss: a bridge under the midfoot that stores energy as the foot flexes and returns it on push-off. It is the signature of the range, on every sheet.
  • FlyteFoam: a light midsole foam that cushions impact while keeping a good energy return, also on every sheet in the range.
  • Precision-Sole: an outsole with a zoned pattern that balances grip and controlled slide, paired on most models with Asicsgrip rubber.
  • Aharplus: on some models, abrasion-resistant rubber on the areas that wear first.

Solution Speed or Gel Resolution?

The most common question among Asics players, and the answer depends entirely on how you move. If your priority is explosive speed and agility, this is your shoe. If you want maximum support and a shoe that holds under a heavy baseline game, look at the Gel Resolution: 420 g against 329 g, and maximum lateral stability against standard.

Frequently asked questions

Is it stable enough for aggressive movement?
Yes, if your game matches the profile. The sheets list standard lateral stability, which is not the same as sacrificed stability: the hold stays solid for an all-court or attacking player. If you defend a lot and often land far from your axis, the maximum lateral stability of the Gel Resolution suits you better.

How does it fit?
The sheets list a narrow fit across the range, so take your usual size and expect a snugger feel than on the other Asics ranges. If your feet are wide, try a half size up and check the heel does not slip, or choose a range with a standard fit.

Does it come with a clay outsole?
Yes. The clay version uses a deep herringbone pattern that clears the surface instead of holding it, and allows a controlled slide. Never play on clay with an all-surface outsole: it clogs, stops releasing the granules, and the slide becomes unpredictable.

If speed is your best weapon, this is the range that amplifies it. Light, responsive and built for movement. You can see how it sits against the rest of the brand on our Asics tennis shoes page.
