X-Compare: our ratings, not the brands'.

Every racket goes through our machines: weight, balance, swingweight, twistweight, stiffness and more. Those readings produce 7 criteria, each rated from 0 to 100. Every model goes through the same method, so you can compare two rackets on a level playing field.

Description

The Siux Obsidian Pro 2027, a teardrop more powerful than announced

For 2027, Siux replaces the Trilogy with the Obsidian, presented as its new control family: a teardrop mould between the Trilogy and the Diablo, a low balance, “hybrid precision” and the largest sweet spot in the collection. The Pro combines 16K carbon on both faces, an EVA Soft core and 3D texture, at a stated 350-365 g. Our X-Compare measurements do not confirm this positioning: the measured balance is neutral leaning towards the head, and the profile is clearly power-oriented.

Who is this racket for?

Advanced players who want a teardrop that helps them find depth. In the lab, the Obsidian Pro offers high power, good forgiveness, decent comfort and fair spin thanks to its 3D texture. Control is a little better than on the Obsidian Elite but remains well behind the Pegasus Pro, and manoeuvrability is average. It is an accessible attacking racket rather than a precision racket.

The technologies explained

  • 16K carbon: a very fine weave, identical on both faces, for a consistent response.
  • EVA Soft: a soft core that makes ball exit easy.
  • Large sweet spot: announced as the largest in the collection, consistent with the good forgiveness we measured.
  • 3D texture surface and satin finish: grip for spin.
  • 100% carbon tubular frame, black with emerald green accents.

The Extreme Tennis team's verdict

The Obsidian Pro suits players who want easy power and forgiveness in a teardrop, not those after pure precision. For genuine control and manoeuvrability, the Pegasus Pro is the benchmark of the range; for comfort and versatility, the Diablo Pro; for maximum power, the Fenix Pro. The Obsidian Elite is softer still, with less spin.
