For what type of game?
The Head Prestige range is designed for players with a very good technique and a good level of play to make the most of these tennis rackets which provide maximum control and touch. The Head Prestige will therefore suit experienced players with a powerful game who are looking for the ultimate in precision, such as ATP player Marin Cilic who has made this his frame of choice.
Which Head Prestige racquet should I choose?
There are different models of Head Prestige that can be adapted to your playing style. The Head Prestige Tour is the most demanding racquet. It offers very little ball speed, but exceptional control and touch. The Prestige Pro will offer more forgiveness than the Tour version due to a slightly larger headsize. The Prestige MP has a 640cm2 headsize offering more forgiveness than its larger sisters. Finally, the Prestige MP L will offer the best playability while remaining control oriented.
What strings to use on a Head Prestige?
Many players who use a Head Prestige like to use soft, power-oriented strings to improve forgiveness and performance. If you are a low breaker, choose thin strings (1.20 and below), which will improve touch, responsiveness and power.
Technologies in the range
The Prestige is a classic Head racquet that has provided control and accuracy to many players since the 1980s. However, it has evolved significantly since then, incorporating the latest technological developments:
- Auxetic: this construction technique allows the materials to expand when a "pulling" force is applied and contract when compressed;
- Box Beam: a rectangular profile that stabilises the frame for greater control.
- Full Cap: a unique Prestige grommet, made in one piece to maximise feel;
- Elongated Shaft: a longer shaft for more flexibility and control.
