Description
Nox Ventus Hybrid 12K Xtrem 2027: control with punch, by Edu Alonso
Designed with Edu Alonso, the Ventus Hybrid 12K Xtrem 2027 from Nox is built on a redesigned teardrop mould with Carbon 12K Xtrem faces. The stated goal is more control and stability, which our measurements confirm: very good control, good manoeuvrability and decent power. Nox states a neutral balance; we measure it low, towards the handle, which explains how quick it feels in hand.
Who is it for?
Expert players who want to dictate the point without giving up acceleration. More controllable and manoeuvrable than the Ventus Attack, it offers more punch than the Ventus Control 12K. Tolerance and comfort are decent, spin grip is excellent. Weight: 360 to 375 g, stated feel medium-hard.
The technologies explained
- Carbon 12K Xtrem: some of Nox's highest-grade carbon microfilaments with an exclusive weave, for a stiff face that spreads energy evenly.
- Multilayered Black EVA: a multi-density core for ball exit in defence and response on smashes.
- VCS: an elastomer bonded inside the handle that filters vibrations; Nox claims up to 56% less felt impact than the previous version. Completed by the Pulse System and Custom Grip.
- Weight Balance: interchangeable 2 and 4 g counterweights, up to 8 g, to add power if needed.
- Dual Spin, EOS Tunnel and Dynamic Composite Structure: textured faces for spin, side perforations for aerodynamics, and a frame extended up to 4 cm into the face against cracks.
The Extreme Tennis team's verdict
The Hybrid 12K Xtrem is the most balanced Ventus for an expert player: high-level control, hand speed and enough punch to finish. For maximum power, the Ventus Attack 12K Xtrem 2027 goes further but is far less manoeuvrable; for even more control, the Ventus Control 12K 2027 is the benchmark.
