Nox Genius 18K Alum 2027 racket
X-Compare
Description
Nox's Genius 18K Alum 2027, Tapia's control in the easiest version of the range
Designed for Agustín Tapia, Nox's Genius 18K Alum 2027 combines a teardrop shape, 18K Alum carbon faces and a low balance. Nox presents it as the all-round Genius with a solid feel. Our X-Compare measurements place it more on the control side, with the best manoeuvrability and forgiveness in the whole Genius family.
Who is it for?
Expert-level padel players who build the point rather than trying to finish it in one shot. Control is very high, spin is excellent, and the light head makes the racket quick in defence and at the net. Power is the most moderate of the Genius range: enough, but you need to accompany the stroke to finish the point. Weight 360 to 375 g, adjustable with counterweights.
The technologies explained
- Carbon 18K Alum: an aluminised 18K carbon that gives a solid feel at impact and more consistent performance across temperature changes.
- Multilayered Black EVA: a multi-layer core with varying densities, responsive on slow shots and on powerful strokes alike.
- VCS: a high-performance elastomer bonded inside the handle to filter vibrations, completed by the Pulse System and Custom Grip.
- Weight Balance and Oversize Grip: interchangeable 2 g and 4 g counterweights, and a 30 mm handle extension.
- Dual Spin, EOS Tunnel and Dynamic Composite Structure: textured faces for spin, more aerodynamic side holes and a frame reinforced up to 4 cm into the face.
The Extreme Tennis team's verdict
In the lab, this is the most accessible Genius: the most manoeuvrable, the most forgiving and the most comfortable in the range, with top-level control. For even more precision with a stiffer feel, the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2027 has the best control score in the family. For more power, the Genius Attack 18K Alum 2027 hits much harder, but it is far more demanding.
