Are you a power player who likes to get into the swing of things? Then Blade tennis rackets are for you. The unmatched control and feel that these tennis rackets provide when held in the hand makes it easier to find areas of the court. The Wilson Blade range therefore allows attackers to get into their rhythm and get to the net with maximum touch and ball control.
The Wilson Blade has already convinced many players and is the most played racquet among the top 100 ATP players. On the men's side, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Karen Khachanov, David Goffin, Alex De Minaur, Lorenzo Sonego, Pablo Carreno Busta, and Ugo Humbert have all adopted the Blade. Among the women, Simona Halep, Serena Williams, Aryna Sabalenka, Elina Svitolina, Paula Badosa, Jelena Ostapenko, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Emma Raducanu, who won the 2021 US Open, will all be wearing Blades. The Wilson racquet brand is most visible at Roland Garros.
There are several different models of Blade racquets that may suit your game. The Blade 98 18x20 with its 630 sq. cm headsize will provide the most control and accuracy. The Blade 98 16x19 will provide more power while maintaining control. The Blade 98S offers an 18x16 string pattern for maximum spin. The Blade 100L with its 285g weight will suit the versatile player looking for control and feel. The Blade 100UL, lighter than the Blade 100L, will be ideal for younger players looking for their first lightweight adult racquet. The Blade 104, which is not well known to the public, offers excellent forgiveness and thanks to its 16x19 string pattern, will also help develop power.
We recommend soft to semi-hard strings on most Blades in order to gain forgiveness and reactivity. However, if you already have a very good shot quality, you can choose hard strings to gain more precision. If you have a Blade 100UL racquet, you should use a multi-filament string to improve comfort. The use of a monofilament string on very light weight rackets is a source of harmful vibrations, which increases the risk of tennis elbow.
